Superbly positioned in a location of great natural beauty in one of Australia's fastest growing regions, Yatala (on the western side of the M1 Pacific Motorway) and Stapylton (east) was once considered the Gold Coast's 'Ugly Duckling'. That was until the suburb was 'discovered' in the 1970s as a commercial / business / industrial centre conveniently positioned midway between the Brisbane CBD and the Gold Coast.

Today the area offers people a much sought-after lifestyle option; the chance to live in a quieter setting with business or work close by. The area is a master-planned community that offers an appealing, young eco-lifestyle in a green, semi-rural environment.

Residential housing options locally are plentiful and varied, ranging from units and affordable estate-style family homes and waterfront property to lifestyle acreage, golf course mansions and villas. 

Yatala is known for its industrial estates and manufacturing, as well as the famous Yatala Pies and drive-in movie theatre. 

Yatala Recreation

Yatala boasts one of the last drive in theatres. Stock up on popcorn and enjoy one of the last remaining outdoor cinema experiences in Australia. It's got a retro diner serving up good food and snacks to enjoy while you watch a film from the comfort of your own car. There's plenty of space too, catering for up to 800 vehicles! 

A fishing platform is floated within Albert River Parklands. Good catches are: Bream, Mud crabs, Flathead, Whiting, Mangrove Jack, Shark and Trevally.

Another popular attraction is the famous Yatala Pie shop, selling 3,500 pies on an average day! You won't miss the giant pie sign when passing on the motorway. 

Just a short 15 minute drive south on the motorway you'll find Dreamworld and WhiteWater World in Coomera.

Yatala Shopping

The huge Logan Hyperdome Centre is a 15-minute drive north of Yatala and the Beenleigh Marketplace is just a hop, skip and a jump away up the M1. A 15 minute drive south of Yatala is the relatively new Westfield shopping centre at Coomera with cinema, restaurants and a Costco next door. 

Pimpama also has a number of local shopping centres with the major supermarkets, Bunnings, Office Works and local takeaway options. 

Yatala Education

The only school physically located in Yatala is Rivermount College, a private school going from prep to grade 12. There are a number of schools located nearby however:

The closest train station to Yatala is Beenleigh Railway Station which is about 5km away (10 minute drive).
