Gold Coast Caravan Parks

There are dozens of caravan parks on the Gold Coast, most of which you’ll find in the south where there are less high rise developments and much better views.

Tweed Heads, the famous border town, has six caravan parks, while Chinderah, a small village just over the border on the Tweed River has no less than seven (a surprisingly high number for a village with only 17 streets — though the town has its own indoor sports centre, church, scout hall, cemetery and golf course).

The majority of caravan parks on the Gold Coast are located on or at very least, a short walk from a substantial body of water, usually one of the spectacular Gold Coast beaches— which is good news for travellers looking for a cool dip after they've unhooked the towbar and plugged in the power.

If a seaside vista isn't important (or in your budget) there are also a number of great parks with excellent facilities located away from the coastline in suburbs like Ashmore, Mudgeeraba, North Tamborine and Oxenford — but be warned, Summer temperatures can vary considerably once you leave the coastal strip, so remember to ask the park manager if they have a pool.

Big4 Holiday Parks

One of the surest ways to find a good holiday park – by good we mean clean, affordable, value for money with decent accommodation options & facilities with good customer service – is to stick to the Big4 Holiday Parks brand.

Since 1979, the members of Big4 Holiday Parks have worked hard to maintain a reputation for warm, friendly service, a great outdoor holiday atmosphere and a real sense of community. What started as 4 dedicated park owners in Victoria has grown to over 180 parks throughout Australia, 3 of which you’ll find in convenient locations right here on the Gold Coast.

Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park

The Gold Coast Holiday Park is so close to the major theme parks you could even walk there. Movie World and Wet’n’Wild are just over the motorway from the park while White Water World is just over the Coomera River. This family friendly park offers a resort pool complete with waterslide and poolside restaurant service, spa, jumping pillow, kids club and so much more.

There’s accommodation to suit every family, with spacious cabins, 5 star luxury villas, caravan sites and camp grounds. With plenty of facilities, as well as 32 acres of nature, space and freedom, you’ll be able to enjoy the great outdoors as much or as little as you want.

Big4 Tweed Billabong Holiday Park

Situated on the north coast of NSW, the Tweed Billabong Holiday Park is ideally suited for families wanting to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the southern end of the Gold Coast, while still nice and close to the main strip and theme parks.

Choose from a range of accommodation options including luxury spa villas, caravan &camping sites and even self-contained cabins. Enjoy beautiful landscaped gardens, pool, billabong, and internet kiosk within the park, and the local shopping precinct, airport and wineries only a short drive away. Kids will have the time of their lives on the park’s jumping pillow, and have a long list of other activities they can partake in.

Big4 Treasure Island Holiday Park

Treasure Island Holiday Park in Biggera Waters is a great base for exploring the best features of the Gold Coast. Only 10 minutes north of Surfers Paradise, you’ll be close to the stunning beaches of the Gold Coast, shopping precincts and restaurants, as well as in the middle of all the major theme parks.

Choose from caravan sites, cabins by the pool, stylish studio units with spas and luxury 3 bedroom townhouses. Park facilities include a kid’s jumping pillow, kid’s club, pool, spa, internet kiosk, landscaped gardens, security boom gate and even mini golf.

Gold Coast Caravan & Camping Grounds

The Gold Coast has become world famous for its high-rise accommodation but if you know where to look you can find some fantastic camping grounds scattered in incredibly picturesque places.

South Stradbroke Island is perhaps the most popular spot to pitch a tent (but remember the Aeroguard) and there are a number of great spots in the mountain Hinterland around Canungra, Binna Burra and Mount Tamborine.
