RobinaVisitors Guide

The second last train stop on the Gold Coast line, Robina is a relatively new, planned residential community about 15 minutes drive from Surfers Paradise. The area is full of greenery with plenty of parks, walkways and bike tracks painting the picture of a peaceful suburb.

Robina’s train station, bus network and proximity to the rest of the Gold Coast places visitors and residents in good stead to take advantage of the coast’s beaches, theme parks, shopping and entertainment.

If shopping is your interest you do not need to venture far. Robina Town Centre is a massive shopping centre with hundreds of stores to provide hours, if not days, of browsing and buying. The Centre also has one of the largest cinema complexes on the Gold Coast with many dining options nearby. Robina accommodation is mostly made up of townhouses and houses, many of which have water or golf course frontage, with many available for holiday rentals.

Robina is a suburb filled with different parks and parklands. Several of these parks have picnic facilities, kid's playgrounds, and sports facilities, and Cheltenham Park even has a large lake perfect for relaxing family picnics. Another huge feature is the Robina Stadium, home to various major events from sports to music and monster trucks. 

Both Robina Town Centre and the stadium are within walking distance of Robina Railway Station.

Things to do in Robina

Timezone and Zone Bowling is located at Robina Town Centre under the cinema and boasts 24 bowling lanes, arcade games, laser tag and bumper cars, plus a cafe with loads of great food and beverage options.

Cbus Super Stadium is Robina's newest rectangular sports entertainment venue. Along with sports matches the venue also hosts functions and concerts. Formerly called Skilled Park, Robina Stadium is across the road from Robina Train Station providing easy public transport access to any events. Visit the website to see what events are on while you're in town. If accommodation is needed for the night of a major event, Quest Robina is conveniently located within walking distance of the stadium. It's important to book online well in advance to avoid missing out!

Event Cinemas is located in Robina Town Centre and screens all major new releases and 3D movies, featuring a special Vmax cinema, Gold Lounge and bar. It's one of the largest cinema complexes in South East Queensland. Since the refurbishment of Robina Town Centre the cinemas are more luxurious with bigger seats, more leg room and a fully licensed bar within the venue.

ArtVo Gold Coast is a unique family-friendly gallery attraction located in Robina Town Centre that features incredible hand-painted optical illusions across the walls and floors of the entire venue. Explore 80+ artworks over 8 themed zones which includes a 3D glow room, safari, fairy-tales and under the sea. The best part is that you actually get to become the art! Strike a pose fighting a dragon, surfing a huge wave or in the jungle, and take photos on your own device. 

Robina Town Shopping Centre is one of the largest shopping destinations on the Gold Coast. The centre is home to several exclusive brands, a massive food atrium, and incredible dining options in the Kitchens, and since it's expansion has become one of Queensland's premier shopping destinations. Browse through David Jones or Myer, H&M, the Apple Store, Adairs, Big W, Cotton On, LEGO Certified store, and much more.

Golf fans have plenty of choice in Robina. The Glades Golf Club is one of Australia's most prestigious resort golf courses. Designed by Aussie golfing legend Greg Norman, the course offers a challenging round with beautiful Australian scenery. Palmer Gold Coast is another popular choice with manicured greens, rolling fairways and native woodlands across an 18-hole, Par 71 championship course. For a stellar golf experience try out Palmer Colonial Golf Course which boasts 39 hectares of serene waterways, picturesque lakes and towering eucalyptus.

Dining Around Robina

There are plenty of excellent choices scattered around the suburb with Robina Town Centre boasting a broad range of restaurants, cafes and eateries that go beyond your typical food court spread. The Kitchens area is a wonderful space that includes a variety of different menu options amongst a vast market-style arena where you can purchase your groceries, artisan breads and gourmet deli meats, or simply relax enjoy some ramen, sushi, burgers, coffee and donuts. 

The Promenade area near the cinema has a range of popular choices like Max Brenners, Grill'd, TGI Fridays, Yum Cha and the Sporting Globe Bar & Grill - perfect to grab a bite before you see a movie. 

Robina is also home to several tavern-style establishments, the most popular being Robina Pavilion. Enjoy your meal overlooking the lake in their open-air outdoor seating area or take advantage of the air con indoors. 

Bond University

The prestigious Bond University is located in Robina and with a large student population residing near the campus, there are plenty of places nearby for them to take the load off and have fun. Many international and interstate students choose the Gold Coast to study and Bond University is a popular choice. Surfers Paradise is about 15-20 minutes away, while Burleigh Heads is less than 15 minutes in the other direction.

Just outside of Robina in the suburb of Miami you'll find the popular Miami Marketta night market with live music and great food, held each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Miami is also home to the awesome axe-throwing venue Lumber Punks. Both options are about 12 minutes drive from Bond University.

Varsity Lakes Tavern is another popular one with the locals and is only a 30-minute walk from the university.
