Gold Coast Airport

Gold Coast Airport is an international and domestic airport located in Coolangatta, connecting thousands of passengers to one of Australia's biggest tourist destinations, the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast Airport signage
Sometimes referred to as Coolangatta Airport, Gold Coast Airport is the easiest way to access the Gold Coast and the Northern Rivers of NSW with over 380 flights every week from destinations across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and beyond. Getting a direct flight into Gold Coast Airport (as opposed to Brisbane Airport, which is about 90 minutes away from Surfers Paradise), means you will spend less time travelling and more time enjoying your next holiday. Being close to the border of NSW, the Airport is also the best way to reach Byron Bay, which is approximately a 45-minute drive away.

As the second largest airport in both Queensland and New South Wales, Gold Coast International Airport offers a range of food and beverage options, contemporary retail outlets, and duty-free shopping for international travellers. If you're staying on the Gold Coast for business or a short visit, there is plenty of accommodation near the airport.

Major Australian domestic carriers, Jetstar, Qantas, Virgin Australia, Rex and Bonza operate frequent domestic flights between the Gold Coast and a number of destinations including Sydney (over 25 times per day) and Melbourne (over 15 times per day). Other domestic flight destinations include Canberra, Cairns, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, Newcastle, Townsville, Rockhampton, Avalon and Albury.

Jetstar and Air New Zealand operate direct services to Auckland, Christchurch, Queenstown and Wellington. Access from Asia is also available from Gold Coast Airport with AirAsia X and Jetstar, with direct international flights to Bali and Kuala Lumpur.

The bustling transport centre has operators at the ready to take you where you need to go. Gold Coast Airport is experiencing a new era of growth in both domestic and international airline services. Every year more than 6.4 million passengers take advantage of the airport's unique location, facilities and services. The Airport will soon be undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade with a new airport bar and lounge, additional food and beverage options, new retail stores (including luxury goods) and a children's play area to be included in the transformation.
