The Gold Coast 600 in Surfers Paradise
Check out the original Gold Coast Indy 300 which screamed into town in 1991. The race was popular with motorsport fans and general party lovers as Surfers Paradise streets got closed off, re-modelled and a mechanical buzz from the Indy cars could be heard a few suburbs over. While the original Indy carnival is no more, the Gold Coast is now home to the Vodafone 600. It is street racing at its best with lots of live music and plenty of parties for revheads and revellers. As the track has remained the same, you can see that accommodation in Surfers Paradise and Main Beach will offer a brilliant birdseye view of the race. After dark, the Broadwater Parklands will host popular national artists in a huge live music concert.
