Main Beach - Life Guards

Gold Coast beaches are well patrolled by Surf Lifesaving Queensland with the Gold Coast City Council employing the largest number of lifeguarding professionals in Australia. Main Beach is patrolled by the lifeguards at Southport SLSC and they are all too happy to let you know where you can and can't swim.

The red and yellow flags signal the area on the beach which the guards believe is the safest. If there are no flags in place you should not enter the water. Learn more about beach safety here.
