Broadbeach - Kurrawa Beach

With a wide expanse of soft sand, regular surf and beautiful adjoining parklands, Kurrawa Beach is a popular spot for families and surfers.

The Kurrawa Surf Club monitors the beach all year round, making it a safe place to swim for young children so long as they stick between the flags. While the surf conditions can be a bit unpredictable at times the lifeguard’s board will usually have notifications of the surf condition.

The stretch of sand between the sea and foreshore is nice and wide, providing plenty of space for people to kick a footy around without disturbing those stretching out and soaking up the Gold Coast sun. Make use of the volleyball facilities right in front of the boardwalk, throw a Frisbee, start a game of beach cricket or just relax on the soft sand and watch everyone else work up a sweat - there are plenty of free activities.

The foreshore of Kurrawa Beach is about as popular as the beach itself. Kurrawa Park is well equipped with sheltered picnic areas, barbecues and plenty of playgrounds and grassy areas for the kids. Take a walk along on of the ocean paths or visit the Broadbeach Art & Craft Markets, held at Kurrawa Park on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
