Solo Shows by Esther Erlich, Johnny Romeo, Michaela Kloeckner & Richard Den
New works by esteemed Australian contemporary artists Esther Erlich, Johnny Romeo, Michaela Kloeckner and Richard Denny open on Saturday 9 November from 6-8pm!
19 KAREN is incredibly excited to exhibit Esther Erlich’s first solo show on the Gold Coast, Fahrenheit. This new body of work displays the Esther’s recognised expressive figurative style which has accredited her with much critically-acclaimed success in both the public and art realms. Esther says her show was painted in cold Melbourne with a warm and sunny Queensland in mind!
NOTE: Esther will be hosting an artist talk as part of the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach Art Lovers High Tea series on Friday 8 November from 11.30am to 1.00pm at Room81. Bookings are essential. Please contact the Sofitel directly on (07) 5592 2250.
Andy Warhol has always been one of Johnny Romeo’s personal heroes. POPism: The Andy Warhol Show sees Johnny reworking some of his favourite Warhol paintings through his colourful signature neo-expressionism pop style.
The whimsical and playful ceramic artwork of Michaela Kloeckner evades the idea of ceramics only being used as functional pieces. Eat, Love and Play reflects on the relationship between food and love. It’s this three-way relationship of tableware, food and creation that serves as the inspiration for this exhibition.
Richard Denny continues to explore his artistic territory without confinement. Still inspired as ever by a fateful find of vintage maps whilst walking around Marseille in France, Richard’s new solo show, The Description, is a continuation of his ‘Is the map the territory’ series.
