Live at Bond - Saskwatch
Electrifying nine-piece band, Saskwatch will be appearing at Bond University’s ADCO Amphitheatre for their FIRST EVER Gold Coast performance, in a finale concert wrapping up the University's 25th Anniversary celebrations.
In just four years, Saskwatch have gone from busking on the streets in Melbourne, to gracing the stage at the world’s biggest and best music festival, Glastonbury. They released their debut album Leave it all Behind in 2012 to widespread acclaim, establishing a reputation as Australia’s most exciting soul act.
They went on to play the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, then toured with Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Maceo Parker, and the legendary Earth Wind and Fire.
Last year Saskwatch played with soul veterans Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, performed to rapturous reception at Byron Bay’s Bluesfest, and received invites to Glastonbury and a major festival in Spain.
Their second album, Nose Dive, marries their retro funky soul sound with atmospheric rock, defying any attempt to define them with a one-word genre.
This is a band who have taken their infectious, powerful brand of music to the world and the world keeps coming back for more!
Saskwatch will be supported by Onyx Reign, a talented young group of multi-instrumentalists and singer/songwriters from ACPA, the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts.
