Jupiterís Gold Coast National Finals Rodeo

Event Description

The Jupiter’s Gold Coast National Finals Rodeo (NFR) is the largest indoor Rodeo and entertainment event in Australia. For the governing rodeo body, the ‘Australian Professional Rodeo Association’ (APRA), it is the pinnacle of rodeo events in Australia.

Each year more than 350,000 spectators watch tens of thousands of hopefuls compete in the 120-plus accredited rodeos that are held across Australia and it all culminates in the National Finals Rodeo on the Gold Coast.

For a gruelling 12 months Cowboys and Cowgirls travel thousands of kilometres for a chance to increase their championship points and qualify for the Australian titles. At the end of the year, the top 15 Cowboys & Cowgirls in six events - Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc, Bareback Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling and Ladies Barrel Racing - are invited to compete at the National Finals Rodeo. Here they have a chance of winning the National tile.

The rodeo is not your typical outback rodeo. With all the flair and extravaganza of a mini Las Vegas style of production, it is aimed to suit a wider target market and gives the regional public a taste of the outback.
The event, which is held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, runs over four days and nights in June, with a variety of side events held in conjunction with Jupiter’s Gold Coast and the wider Gold Coast community.
