Straddling the M1, the eastern extent of Ormeau merges with the suburb of Pimpama, while to the south it meets with Kingshole and to the north, Yatala.

Ormeau History
The name 'Ormeau' is a French name meaning 'young elm' which originated with a Major AJ Boyd, a sugar planter in the 1860s. A number of the streets are named aftter the pioneering families who, in the early days, farmed bananas, sugar cane and arrowroot.
