Every year in October Surfers Paradise comes alive with motorsport fans and general party lovers as the Gold Coast Indy 300 screams through town. The whole place gets re-modelled, streets get closed off and a few hundred thousand people turn out (often in the rain) to watch  V8 Supercars roar around town.
