Paradise Island Resort in Surfers Paradise is probably the most family-friendly resort on the Gold Coast. Their well-renowned kids club and brilliant facilities for infants, toddlers, kids and teenagers make it a popular choice among families and its location on a private island in the heart of Surfers Paradise is pretty hard to beat. It's not as close to the surf as other resorts (you're looking at a 5-10 minute walk, though don't let that put you off, it's not far), but the fantastic lagoon pool and other facilities more than make up for it.

The 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments are air-conditioned and fully self-contained. Like most Gold Coast apartments, the rooms in Paradise Island Resort are all owned by individual investors and managed by a company, so the good news is that the rooms have a bit more character than your average hotel and the staff are professionally trained, the downside is your interior decoration is subject to individual taste. Paradise Island Resort is a reasonably new building, but ask for a recently renovated room if you can and you're more likely to get a wide screen TV.
