Lamington National Park and O'Reilly'sHoliday Destination

For over 90 years the O'Reilly family has been welcoming visitors to their mountain home in the subtropical rainforest of World Heritage Lamington National Park. Originally the property was to be used by 8 men of the O'Reilly family as they began milking cattle and collecting timber in the McPherson Range.

Three years later, the Lamington National Park was established around the family property which put an end to using the property as farming land. In 1926 the family opened up the property to tourists and ever since it has become a favourite spot with local, national and international visitors.

O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards

O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards
Located in picturesque and peaceful Canungra Valley, in the Gold Coast Hinterland, O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards is a boutique vineyard and historic Queenslander homestead that is dedicated to fine food and wine.

The vineyard is the proud producer of fine quality, award-winning wines.

O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards is one of the premium boutique cellar doors in South East Queensland. The Gold Coast Hinterland area is one of Queensland's newly emerging wine growing regions. Canungra Valley soil is well suited to grapes, as the rich river loam has built up over centuries by the flooding creek and a naturally occurring layer of gravel a metre under the surface allows for excellent drainage.

The vineyard provides the perfect venue for a casual picnic basket or restaurant dining, social group outing, off-site function venue or a unique wedding venue.

If you're a wine lover or want to escape the city, then a visit to any one of these vineyards in this beautiful region should be a delight:

O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk

O'Reilly's Tree Top Walk allows you to walk through the canopy to see flowering and fruiting trees and vines, the epiphytic orchids and ferns, and the birds and animals that inhabit the treetops. The Tree Top Walk is only 300 metres from the Guesthouse via the Booyong Walk, a rainforest boardwalk that was built by the Green Mountains Natural History Association.

OReillys Tree top walk
The Tree Top Walk, the first of its kind in Australia, is 180 metres in length and is made up of 9 suspension bridges, with much of the walkway being 15 metres above the ground. Profiles depicting the rainforest flora close by have been placed along the walkway to assist visitors in identifying the plants in the immediate vicinity. Two observation decks have been constructed in a Strangler Fig above the walkway, the highest one being 30 metres (approx 110 feet) above the ground.

Access to the decks is by a ladder that is protected by wire screens. The decks allow a close look at the orchids and ferns growing on the tree, as well as the splendid view out over the rainforest canopy.

The Tree Top Walk is a unique and innovative structure that gives visitors what can only be described as an exhilarating experience - a chance to observe life in the rainforest canopy at close range for the first time in their lives while enjoying stunning views of the surroundings.
