Miami continues the trend of Gold Coast beachside accommodation, offering mainly self-contained apartments close to the beach. Probably the most distinctive accommodation in the area is towards the suburb of Nobby Beach, up on the small headland, dubbed Magic Mountain. Magic Mountain was the name of an amusement park back in the 60's, 70's and 80's, which featured a chairlift, castle, dodgem cars and waterslides. Although the amusement park has long since been swept away by the tides of time and replaced by hill top accommodation, it's only a short drive or bus ride to the big four theme parks.
