Gold Coast Clubs (Not nightclubs, the RSL ones)

Gold Coast ClubsUp until a few years ago pokies (poker machines, slot machines, call them what you will) were illegal in Queensland and if you were staying or living on the Gold Coast and wanted to have a punt you had to jump on a bus and head over the border to a club in Tweed Heads.

These licensing rules led to a large number of large clubs being built in the Tweed area catering for Queenslanders, and although pokies are now legal in both states, Tweed is home to the biggest clubs on the Gold Coast - namely Twin Towns Services Club and Seagulls Club — both of which are the spiritual home of the bistro, Club Keno, The Four Kinsmen and Kamahl in northern NSW.

If you are staying at the other end of the Coast near Surfers Paradise pretty much every suburb has its own RSL or Leagues club of some description, so you'll never be far from the action.

Surf Clubs are also found in great abundance throughout the coast and usually all offer a great seafood platter and an even better view.

'Cheap and cheerful' is probably the best phrase to sum up the food, decor and facilities at most of the Gold Coast clubs, so if you want to gamble or buffet in a bit more style you might want to check out Jupiter's Casino in Broadbeach.
