Gold Coast City Council

The Gold Coast City Council region stretches from Beenleigh in the north, down to Coolangatta in the south, and Springbrook and Ormeau in the west. The area has 14 divisions and residents in each division elect a Councillor to represent their community's needs. All Gold Coast City residents elect the Mayor.

Until 1995 the Gold Coast region had a conglomeration of local governments - the first meeting of the Gold Coast City Council in its present state was held on the March 24th 1995.
