Swing into Summer with John Morrison & Jacki Cooper

Event Description

Australia’s best big band drummer, John Morrison and renowned jazz singer Jacki Cooper bring their humour and swinging sounds to Bond University’s 2012 free music series finale.

John Morrison opened the Sydney 2000 Olympics with his Swing City band and younger brother, James Morrison.  He is a gifted educator, producer and patron of many outstanding youth bands and orchestras, and has played with numerous internationally known artists over his 30-year career.  As a mentor, John has supported hundreds of young people into successful playing careers.  He works extensively in remote communities, bringing joy and education through music to Indigenous young people.

Jacki Cooper is an internationally sought after vocalist who has toured the US, Europe, Russia, Scandinavia, Vietnam and China, and performed with the Shanghai Symphony Big Band.
