The Australian Outback Spectacular offers a truly authentic outback experience from the corrugated iron roof on the arena to the 3 course Aussie BBQ Dinner. Receive your very own Akubra on arrival, sit back in the Aussie Pub and enjoy a refreshing beer before the show begins!

Last year the Australian Outback Spectacular 'Heroes of the Light Horse' show was the proud winner of Queensland's Major Tourist Attraction Award and thrilled thousands of audiences members from all over the world with their stunts, music and poignant stories.

This year the team at Australian Outback Spectacular have a whole new show to capture your hearts.

The Spirit of the Horse

Australian Outback Spectacular - Spirit of the Horse Phar LapThe Australian Outback Spectacular will tell you the story of one of Australia's greatest legends whose spirit and determination still captures the hearts of many. The 'Spirit of the Horse' celebrates the story of the champion thoroughbred racehorse, Phar Lap, whose courageous racing career helped buoy the spirits of the Australian people during the dark days of the Great Depression.

This iconic Australian story is told using an amazing cast of horses and their riders with special effects galore and a touch of good old Aussie sense of humour. The story is set against a stirring musical score written and composed by Aussie country music legend himself, Lee Kernaghan.

Book NowIt's then time to show the stockmen and stock women's playful and competitive side as they test the skills of themselves and their horses in a bid to outdo rival stations.  It's a high energy show which will have the audience on the edge of their seats and perhaps even a tear in the eye.

Australian Outback Spectacular - Outback venueWhile sitting in the Outback Arena you will be treated to a truly Aussie experience as you sit back in a traditional shearing shed with corrugated iron roof, heavy timber settings, stockyard sand and native back drop.

The Area has been built to truly evoke the unique spirit of the Australian Outback and that's even before the show begins!

Once you walk through the entrance, pass the billabong, enter the Aussie Pub and pull up a stool for a beverage before showtime!

The excitement hits near fever pitch as you enter the the Outback Arena and take your seats before the show begins.

Dining at Australian Outback Spectacular

Australian Outback Spectacular - BBQ diningIf you are staying around town you might not get the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Aussie BBQ but at the Outback Spectacular that is exactly what you'll be served up.

The menu consists of three ultimate Aussie favourites starting with a Queensland salad served in a flat bread swag, next a BBQ steak with gravy, vegetables and Australian favourite, Damper. Finish your meal with a traditional Pavlova piled high with berries, country cream and a cup of Bush Billy Tea. During your meal you can also enjoy a choice of beer, wine or soft drink.

There's also a vegetarian option for those who don't eat steak and sausages for the kids so that everyone is kept happy!

Australian Outback Spectacular - BarThe Australian Outback Spectacular show nightly at 7.30pm from Tuesday and Sunday and runs for 1.5 hours including the Aussie BBQ meal.

With the launch of the new show there is a 12.30pm Sunday Matinee lunch show and  4.30pm Saturday Show on some dates. The team welcome you to come an hour before the show begins to have a beer or wine at the Aussie Pub.

You can also take the time to wander about the Gift Shop for your very own Outback Spectacular souvenir or something from the latest R.M. Williams range.  

The Australian Outback Spectacular is located around 30 minutes from Surfers Paradise on the Pacific Motorway. There's plenty of car parks and wheelchair and stroller access.

Visitors must also note that for the safety of riders and their horses no photography or video cameras can be used throughout the show. There are also moderate levels of noise as well as the use of strobe lighting for those sensitive to these issues.
